On the occasion of International Women's Day, President Ram Nath Kavand has presented Nari Hindu deity Praskar on twenty nine ladies. This award is given especially to those women who have done significant work in any field. Nasira Akhtar is one of the women who have been given this award this year.

A 48-year-old woman from Kanipura area of ​​Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir has registered her name in the Asia Book of Records by scientifically converting polythene into ashes.

The efforts of Nasira Akhtar, 48, of Kanipura Kulgam, came to fruition. Apart from being a widow, the mother of two young sons presented a new invention to the world in which she was told to turn polythene into a pile of ashes.

 Nazareth began work long ago to uproot polythene, but her work was appreciated when she was awarded the India Book of Records, the Columns Book of Records and, in those days, the Asia Book of Records. According to him, he faced many difficulties in this journey of inventions but he was sure that one day the world would appreciate his work.

After obtaining a degree in Commerce, Nasira Akhtar took an ITI course in Computer and Stenography and got a government job.

 But he was not at all interested. So, he listened to his heart and turned down the job and devoted all his energies to setting up a small scale industry. Today, Nazareth's unit manufactures surgical items such as bandages, cotton, masks and bed sheets.

 At present the annual turnover of SSI is Rs. 8 million. She says, "I am the sole lady in Kashmir WHO works within the field of belt creating. There are some other women in Jammu, but none in Kashmir. My products reach every city and district level hospital here."

Borrowed from various institutions

 However, this was not easy, as setting up a for-profit organization requires a lot of planning, research and sound decision making. "After discussing different ideas with my brother, I traveled to Delhi, Jund and Muradabad to survey the market and get more information about the area," says Nasira. This is where I learned about strips.

 He has taken loans from time to time from various financial and business entities like EDI (Entrepreneur Development Institute), (Khadi Village Industries Commission) and (Directorate of Industry and Commerce) to expand his business. Now they have their own unit. The target is to increase the annual turnover to Rs. 2 crore.

An award-winning and ideal project

He demonstrated his skill in converting polythene to ashes on many important platforms for which he was highly praised. He was encouraged internationally, but because of his low literacy he faced resistance and criticism, and in many universities he was asked to demonstrate his invention. However, Nasira always showed courage and dedication. Demonstrated and she succeeded in it. According to Nasira, not everyone gets the award, but it requires hard work and dedication.

Nasira says that the government should show interest in such works and embarrass the dream of every inventor. Nazareth's sons are happy with their mother's work and are encouraging her. According to them, Nazareth has faced a lot of difficulties and since then she has reached this place. And of course, because of his work, he has a high position in the world, but the current administration and the government have a responsibility to play a key role.

The family has been the largest network .

 His family has been the biggest support in Nazareth's journey. "Even though my parents were illiterate, they always encouraged me and my siblings to do something good. They encouraged us to get an education and when I decided to set up my own ISS, He also mortgaged his jewelry to help me financially.
